As usual on the first weekend of September in Lille, the Braderie (a major event that consists in a huge car boot sale in different parts of the city) will take place under the sun - believe it or not. This will be the best occasion for the professionals as well as for the private individuals looking for a bargain or a heart stopper.
In 2014, the organisers counted 15,000 exhibitors and 2,500,000 visitors (only 20,000 according to the police). This event, without doubt, gives a boost to the local tourism. Everyone hopes huge financial fallouts. Indeed, even the seaside stations of the Côte-d’Opale hope that the tourists will spend some time on the seashore, and the same for Paris, only 1 hour away from Lille, for its image of France, and of course the Eiffel Tower.
Finally, the organisers of the Half Marathon that takes place at the same time are expecting several thousands runners.
