Fuel

Messagede fabias89 » Jeu Fév 15, 2018 16:53

Hi!

can someone help me in choosing an airplane? I have to buy a new plane to send to Bilbao but I am undecided whether to buy a CS-100-R or an A320-200. What makes me undecided is the actual calculation of the fuel. I can not tell if the CS-100-R actually consumes more than the A320-200 or not.

Thanks
F.S.

The A320-200 consumes 2.39 L/100km/pax and can carry 180 pax => 430L/100km
And the CS-100-R : 2.85 L/100km/pax and can carry 133 pax => 379L/100km

So in absolute the A320-200 consumes more, but it consumes less if you consider that it carries more passangers (180vs133)

I made this calculation too, the problem is not knowing how much they consume with this calculation but how much fuel really costs me. For example, I have two planes flying over New York, different models and different boarding (one 92pax the other 512pax) with obviously different consumption. But if I make a statistic between the price of the fuel paid to fly the A380-800 and the Boeing 737-700ER I notice that I pay much more for the fuel to fly the 737 than to fly the A380. Cost fuel A380 = $ 164 559 while 737-700ER = $ 50 755. The data ratios are instead A380 = 1249.28L / 100Km while 737 = 276L / 100Km. According to this data I would have to pay much more for the A380 than for the 737 but that's not the case.

If you use this formula you should find correct values :
viewtopic.php?f=98&t=43473&p=811233&hilit=ECO#p811233

A first class passenger doesn't count as 1 pax but as 1,5pax. A business passenger is 1,25pax and 1 ton of cargo count as 10 pax.
